The Story of Chhathi Mayya
Chhathi Mayya is believed to be Usha, the daughter of Surya Dev (Sun God). She is the goddess of well-being, prosperity, and the protector of children. According to ancient scriptures, Chhathi Mayya bestows blessings upon devotees who worship her with pure hearts and unwavering faith.
The festival is rooted in the epic Mahabharata, where Draupadi and Kunti are said to have performed Chhath Puja to solve their problems and seek blessings. Lord Rama and Sita also observed this ritual after returning to Ayodhya, making it one of the most ancient and revered festivals in Hindu tradition.
